Justin's Scripture

Hello everyone,I am honored to have been asked to be a sub for the"scripture of the week".One of my favorite scriptures in the Book of Mormoncomes from King Benjamin in Mosiah 2:41 where he isgiving his last address to his people. He says:"And moreover, I would desire that ye should consideron the blessed and happy state of those that keep thecommandments of God. For behold, they are blessed inall things, both temporal and spiritual; and if theyhold out faithful to the end they are received intoheaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in astate of never-ending happiness. O remember, rememberthat these things are true; for the Lord God hathspoken it."This scripture gained meaning for me personally as Isaw how it became the motto for my mom as she enduredher ten year battle with cancer. She kept her eyes onthe spiritual goal and held out faithful until theend. I am sure that each of us would love to 'dwellwith God in a state of never-ending happiness' so thetrick is to hold out faithful to the end. We can doit with our Savior's help. The gospel of Jesus Christoffers hope for our eternal futures, it is a gospel ofhappiness. Thanks to all of you for accepting me so graciouslyinto your family. I have felt so welcomed and havereally come to love each and every one of you over thelast five years.Love,Justin

thanks for mentioning the word pre-existence, which brings me to my next point, did we just not exist at this point in time? the word would surely denote such, and if so, at what point did we start to exist? cuz i thought that our souls were from all eternity to all eternity? and the scriptures would surely back me up on this point of doctrine. I'm not trying to detract from the purpose of these e-mails, I'm just throwing this out there.

Thanks for the scripture, that's definitely one to ponder. As I think about enduring I'm think of the fact that we have already been valiant in enduring our first estate. We made it, all of us! It's true we chose our Heavenly fathers plan, in the preexistence we chose Father and Christ over the other guy. Now we must remember we are still fighting that same war. The War is real. I pray we can use this scripture to remember to keep going, its not over till its over.

the plan of salvation is a three act play, the first act is what happened in the pre-mortal existence. the second act is our present existence, and the third act is our future existence. We exist etenally, but pre-existence denotes the first act. For us to understand the full play, we must know what happens in each act.
another word for pre-existence is antemortal or life before our mortal life. refer to the topical guide pg. 305 man, also pre-mortal. This has given us reason to search our scriptures, thankyou Brady and Larry for bringing this topic up, good job, you are catching on to what we want to do. Love you all.
